The Czech town of T\u00e1bor, twin town of the city of Constance, is celebrating the 600th anniversary of its foundation this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

23 June to 1 November 2020<\/p>\n

\n

For more than 200 years the Hus House in Constance has been the centre of veneration of the Czech scholar and reformer Johannes Hus. Because of the criticism of the church conditions at that time, Johannes Hus had to defend his teachings before the Council of Constance, but as a heretic he was sentenced to death at the stake on 6.7.1415.<\/em><\/p>\n
